    Question K8nxp-sli?

I ordered the Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI yesterday because i've seen good reviews and was a recommendation from someone who owns one.

I would like to hear some other opinions on this board and if you guys think i made a good choice?

I would have gone for this myself: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=82819

Due to the price difference and the fact that I like ASUS.

However, that mobo seems perfectly good and will work fine.

Presumably you read the HEXUS.review, but in case you didn't:
All in all, the GA-K8NXP-SLI proves all but impossible to fault. The biggest issue Gigabyte may face is the proliferation of cheaper, non-NVIDIA certified SLI solutions on the horizon, which may cut into the market for boards such as these. But even then, this particular offering could stand on its own two feet on feature-set alone.

    It's fantastic, Enjoy it

I built a system for a friend using one of these very boards last saturday. Apart from a little confusion over how to get the single sata drive working it was a dream.

Comes with OOooooodles of extras, like 8 (Yes Eight) sata cables, one for each channel. Child board for connecting two PSu's, IDE and floppy cables, and SLI ready (If you have the cash), the works. Was very impressed.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

    Thanks guys.

Can anyone recommend a PSU that won't break the bank? Just in case my current PSU doesn't cut it.

Get a decent and get one that is going to last like the Tagan 480w PSU or the OCZ 520w PSU. I know they cost a little more than other PSUs but there is a reason for this

My Tagan lasted me through 3 upgrades until I swapped it for a PCP+C 510w Deluxe Daddy of all daddies PSU (adjustable rails etc).

Get a decent well rated PSU and it will last and last

    Question current PSU?

Is there anyway to tell if my current PSU will be sufficient?

It's does have the 24 pin connector that most people seem to have been mentioning and the 12v 4 pin connector obviously coz i'm running an A64.

I would be nice to know if it would be sufficient enough until i get a better PSU.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks for the suggestions guys but i'm gonna find it very difficult to afford a decent power supply. I can't go any lower on the prices for the CPU and graphics card i'm getting. I would like to get the Hiper Type R but its just a little too much from what i've seen. My current power supply does state ATX 2.0 on it. Would it be sufficient to last me a month when then i'll be able to afford the Type R?

The only area where the Type R isn't so impressive is in the performance stakes, where it comes out looking somewhat average under load. Nothing too disastrous, but it may be enough to put off anyone expecting to laden their system to the brim with devices.
