    Talking 550W GTR Power supply with 38A/12V?

    Anyone heard of this power supply before ? Noticed the 12V has pretty beefy @ 38AMPS so picked one up to try on PCI-E SLI system

    Specs:

    - 550w PSU has 3x 80mm fans and sleeved ATX 20 + 4-pin cable (suits both 20 & 24-pin boards). The 24pin cable is parts one 20pin with a 4pin attachment that you can take off for 20pin action. You can see it in above pics
    - 8x HDD, 2x FDD, P4 power & 2x SATA connectors, all bar SATA are neon green UV sensitive
    - ATX lead also has neon green mesh sheath, 175d x 150w x 85 h
    - Aluminium chassis, fans are temperature-controlled & speed adjustable with knob on back. Low speed fan setting is virtually inaudible, while high speed is not that loud at all probably less than Sunon 39cfm fan.
    - Very quiet with fans at lowest speed setting
    - Rails = +3.3v - 30A, +5v - 32A, +12v - 38A, +5vSB - 2A
    - No 240v power cord is included

    Did 3 rail tests:

    Test #1:
    Antec Power supply Tester (25W)
    2x 80x25mm Adda Lian Li case fans @0.15AMP/each
    Multimeter
    12V = 12.29v
    5V = 5.19v
    3.3V = 3.417v

    Test #2:
    3200+ @ stock 1.3875v / A8N-SLI Deluxe
    2x 256MB XFX 6800GT PCI-E @ stock
    2x 512MB OCZ PC3700EB @ 201mhz 3-3-2-8 1T
    LiteON 48x24x48x / 80GB WD 800JB
    550W GTR psu with 38A/12V rail
    WinXP PRO SP2 & 71.90 Forceware drivers

    Bios Readings vs Multimeter
    12V = 12.03v vs 12.34v
    5V = 4.99v vs 5.16v
    3.3V = 3.29v vs NA

    Test #3:
    Windows 3dmark2003 Load
    12V Idle = 12.29v
    12V Load = 12.02-12.22v fluctuates steadily, one instance of drop to 12.01v

    Not bad for AUD$134 bucks

    currently in OZ

    580W Topower 686P6 35A/12V = AUD$234
    520W OCZ Powerstream = AUD$230-250
    600W OCZ Powerstream = AUD$319-355
    600W Tagan = AUD$200-210
    700W Zippy 6700 model = AUD$340-450
