BSOD with new RAM and other errors

So, I bought a new kit of team group delta to go with my current pair. Now totaling 16gb. While I was at it I installed a spare fan that cooler master sent out to me. This required 3 things, the removal of my wireless card, gpu and a bios reset to make sure my timings and everthing would be ok. Booted into bios ok, and reapplied my OC's. Then going into Overwatch for the new event, I get a driver error. Ok? updated to the new 970 drivers despite the drop in performance, nope. Wouldn't go past the unzip stage. Re-booted and relaunched overwatch anyway, got a bsod. Did it again, got post code 33 after a bsod and reboot. re seated ram, gpu and wireless card after cleaning with isop. Not to mention inbetween all this i would keep getting crashes in my browser on the loading of a page. Re-installed windows and got a bsod when 70% through. but continued after restart. Should i just return and replace? or is there a way of checking for instabilities in just my ram. Thanks

Re: BSOD with new RAM and other errors

Try bluescreenview or whocrashed to see what's causing the blue screen.

Could well be faulty ram or its not compatible with your timings.

Go back to basics, one stick of ram etc etc

I would also be looking at the CPU

what is your thought process behind your suggestion of CPU. I will have a go with one of those two tonight.

    Regards,

Re: BSOD with new RAM and other errors

If your mainboard is the same as listed on your profile then error 33 is CPU-Post Memory Initialisation - Cache initialisation, with memory controllers being built in these days, I would suggest its your memory or CPU at fault

Have you tried dropping everything back to stock and rechecking? If you've slapped a new set of RAM in and then immediately reapplied a previous set of OC settings, my bet is the new setup simply isn't stable at the previous overclock.

Most particularly, you've gone from 2 DIMMs to 4 DIMMs, which always puts more stress on the IMC, and therefore the CPU. You're almost certainly going to have to retest the full OC profile from stock and find out what your "new" stable is...

Re: BSOD with new RAM and other errors

I had similar issues to this a while ago (few years).
It ran fine for ages, then I changed hardware (ram and added an SSD I think) and then suddenly started getting BSOD's, decided to completely strip the system down and found that when I initially built the system I had bent a pin or two in the CPU socket and for some reason the problems never showed themselves until I upped the RAM..

Thanks for the comment, I'll be sure to cover all bases. I'll try stock tonight

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean there, try re-phrasing?

Re: BSOD with new RAM and other errors

I have tried lots of various things to try and find the cause but to no avail, each time it crashes it seems to be a different bug.

Re: BSOD with new RAM and other errors

I don't understand what you mean in the first post. I assume you mean your system was working OK, then stopped working OK when you installed new RAM? If that's the case the faulty RAM is one possibility.
