    gfx card prblem

o.k to start there system specs

    system 1
    amd 64 3400+
    1 gig memory (512 , 2x256) (3200)
    mis k8n neo plat

    system 2
    amd xp 2400+
    756 mem (3x256) (2700)
    abit nf7 v2

i got 2 systems and 2 diffent gfx cards ati 9800 and 9600 both pros now if i put the 9800 in system 1 it scores 2500 3d marks (2k3) if i put it in system 2 i get 5505 3d marks both have the same drivers.
now why does system 2 beat system 1 on 3d marks ?

It sounds like there maybe some remnents of the oem drivers at work, get driver cleaner http://www.drivercleaner.net/ and run that through your system then install the latest cat's,

Also maybe you should think about getting rid (ebay) of your 2 x 256 modules and getting a single 512 to match the module you have so you run in dual channel mode as I think (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) your probably running single channel due to your memory config, although that wouldn't be knocking you down by 2500 marks

Make sure you boot into safe mode to do it and also run the cab cleaner for driver.cab and sp2.cab as well then run the Ati filter

Sounds to me like your A64 is not set up properly. You've got motherboard BIOS setup and driver issues likely.

Also Olly1234, unless he mistyped his motherboard description he can't run in dual channel because he's running a S754 board. The S939 is a Neo2, not a Neo.

That's a new one. Choking the 9800. I was going to suggest that you consider a new PSU with all that stuff but didn't think it would cause a lower benchmark. I would think it would just not run at all. At any rate you were asking a lot of that 350 watt power supply.
