    General Budget Case Advice

After the success of my PSU question i am going to start another thread on cases. Sorry if it seems i am making you all do my own research. I am after a case for my new system and am struggling to find one to suit my needs.

Very few cases i have seen are what i would call attractive, i like the wave master and tsunami cases but they are both too expensive. My limit is about £50.

I do not expect the world for this price, i will not move it much so steel is fine. Things like motherboard trays are nice but i dont need them. Basically i am after a quiet attractive case with a couple of fans (120mm if poss) at a good proce and will put of with losing hours of time and pints of blood if its not the most functional.

I have my eye on the CM Cavalier for £45 but one thread on this forum suggested it was pretty average for £35. Any more views are welcome.

Thanks in advance. Ask if you want more details.

I've had two or three Antec cases. They were decent crack, well made with decent psu's. Not a bad deal on this one at Amazon. Its quite a bit more elsewhere.

I love my Antec AMG 1000 plusview cost be amout 45-55 quid and easily takes 92mm fans with the right screws.

    Massive, lovely heavy and brilliant

Best case i have used to date, just the paint scratches realy easily!

That amazon case is a bit plain for my taste. i have just bought a 480w Tagan PSU so i wont use the PSU installed in the case (though most decent cases wont have one anyway).

The AMG 1000 plusview isnt bad, not really my thing though. Ill look for reviews and prices just in case.
    Thanks

Jeantech Phong, 2 120mm fans, look dull though.

If you have £50 or so to spend and don't need a PSU how about a beantech igloo:

Ive seen quite few people recommend the Igloos. they seem a sensible choice but i cant help but want something that looks more interesting.

Yes i have looked through xcase, they are quite expensive but do make it easy tolook through a lot of cases.

The Centurion 5 is a case i have reserved in my mind as a good value basic case.

I like the silverstone cases but doubt i can get one cheap enough.

Also does anyone know if the suntek vivid is any good or just for show?http://www.caseclosed.co.uk/suntek_vivid.htm seems to think cooling isnt the best (as id expect) but this is far from an exaustive review.

I've owned a suntek case in the past (one of my first infact). Solid enough construction and no sharp edges or anything nasty like that. It was also a case with plastic panels on it and cooling was not great. I would try and see one in the flesh if you can as my old case looked a bit cheap and plastic in the end so deffo worth getting a look if you can... (though on the other hand it's just a case and well... there are more exciting things in life to worry about)

To be honest get a case with 120mm fans as a proirity and worry bout looks later as they can be sorted later with a bit of paint and modding

LOL glad your pleased with the tagan

You may be able to pick up a Lian Li PC7 at £50 or if not check eBay and you might be able to get a decent case slightly cheaper
