With SLi motherboards you can use 2 dual head graphics card to run 4 monitors - but only when you're not in SLi mode, as then only 1 card will be outputting a display.
Not sure how you can do 6 screens. Matrox have triple head cards, but they're not PCI-E IIRC.
Might be worth contacting these people. They sell multiple monitor setups and should be able to give you some guidance on what cards work for 6 VPU displays.

Up to 4 monitors from one PCIe x16 slot.
Not cheap though...
edit: And it'll be no good for 3D...
Surely 2 x PCI-E cards and one dual head PCI card?
Why the heck do u want 6 anyway!

lol - he's an alien, and and he doesn't want to get bored.
So his goal is to play crysis on one monitor, far cry on another, HL1 on another, HL2 on another, NFS Pro Street on the 5th, whilst maintaining the Server (therefore working, therefore having sufficient money to pay the power bill for those 6 monitors) on the 6th.
That's right, isn't it, robomelon?
You wouldn't mind posting a web-link to your choice, would you? It would help "consolidate" the thread.
(I.e. you start the thread with "Here's my Problem" and end it with "Here's my solution".)
Many thanks in advance.
That guy's last post was almost 3 years ago - I doubt he'll see your post.
holy thread revival batman
Yep - I do that a lot. I read my subscription list, and realised, "Hey!" That's still interesting.
Alternatively, as with this thread, I'm looking up something specific, and an old thread comes up...
Some of the mods - and some of the users - must be getting to know me, bcs I'm getting teased about it... Keep it comin'...
