I want to eventually get a AMD 64bit system with PCI-E, but all the boards I see seem to have tiny little fans on the chipset. Has any of you guys got any suggestions about which boards have quiet chipset fans?
Thanks

An8-Fat has a standard small one, but you can control the speed of it (from 8 to 12 volts), and thus the noise. It will also auto increase / decrease dependant on temperature :)
I have replaced my fan on the A8N-SLI with a Zalman northbridge heatsink. Works a treat, very quiet! :)
The Winfast (Foxconn) boards are pretty quiet but non of them are very quiet. Third party cooling is necessary I think if you must have a silent PC.
Seconded. Waterblock for me. :cool:Quote:
