Just wondered if anyone knew what kind of connection rate the 2 have, any advantages from one to the other?
check out this article I found, it gives pros and cons of both http://www.firingsquad.com/features/...sb/default.asp
also depends on if you're using usb 1 or 2 as usb 2 is much faster.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
They both take about the same amount of time to plug in so the "connection rate" is about the same. Did you mean data rate? If you type less than 5000 words per minute there won't be any difference.
If you have lot's of USB ports and/or you don't use DOS, use USB. If you do use DOS and/or have a shortage of USB ports you may want PS2. If you simply must have a certain device and it has a certain connector then you should use that connector. Right then!![]()
LOL, nice one, but I think he's asking about mouse performance in games, latency and polls per second and all that.
Aren't you supposed to be able to "overclock" the USB port to make it read more times per second than PS/2 can? I think so, because Logitech claim their fastRF technology is as fast as USB can handle so there is no downside to wireless, but hardcore gamers counter that USB can be speeded up. Trouble is (like most overclocking) it is unapproved and can be unreliable.
EDIT> I just read the link in Starbuck's post, obviously it's PS/2 that can be speeded up, not USB! D'oh!![]()

I don't think anyone would be able to tell the difference in a blind test, lol.
