Yes they definitely are, its a 2 page review. I know this cos i got the mag .They gave it 72% btw.
I can't find the review for the Intel one (somewhere under heaps of paper), but I seem to remember, they were expecting alot from this AMD one. 72% seems a little low.
Edit: Pretty awesome you can do this though - http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=39431
Basically their not blown away with it considering the laughable price (£125). They could only squeeze an extra 20mhz from the FSB for example even with those fans over the memory. in the end iff you just intend to use the board at stock then it will perform well, but it isnt for overclockers, at least when they tested it, it wouldn’t overclock very much.

Hefty price tag
Cheers,
how noisy are those fans?
The reviews on the net have been pretty good (apart of course for the high price for a non-SLi board) ranking it highly for performance.
The standard AN8 looks like a bit of a bargain though.
Standard AN8? Different versions???
There are currently 4 versions with the SLi yet to come.
Fatality, AN8-3rd eye, AN8 & AN8-V (no Firewire)
The standard is £89 inc VAT at Aria, Fatality £129
edit, btw Tech Report got theirs to do over 360HTT

I couldn't find any of them particularly cheap though BUFF? I fancied trying a chipset mod to turn a stock AN8 into an Ultra.
(In fact I couldn't afford to buy one at any price, but still ).
but does it have to be cheap to be a bit of a bargain?
All the reviews that I have read so far have basically put it in the top 2 performing slot along with the DFI both of which beat the ASUS. If you compare the standard AN8 to the DFI Ultra D you save £15-20.
ps I admit to being an ABIT fan
how loud is the chipset fan on the AN8s?
Also is the chipset on the AN8 just the standard Nforce4 or the Ultra chipset?
Looks like the standard ABIT northbridge hsf but I don't know.
It's the standard chipset 1000MHz HTT, 1.5Gb/s SATA rather than 3Gb/s & no Active Armor.

It really needs an update.
YorkieBen - its really not that bad. Plus you can alter the voltage on the fan depending on the temp of it
interesting, I might be tempted. The thing that put me off about nf4 boards was the obscene noise the chipset fan makes. The placement on the AN8 is much better (i.e. replaceable if necessary with a quieter replacement)
Does the active armor and faster SATA really make a huge difference?
How's the Audiomax compared to a creative SA 2zs?
