Thermalright Ultra 120 on AM4 - True Bolt Through Kit

    Hi All,

I've got currently got the stock cooler & fan on a 3600X, but its a little noisy when idle for my liking. I've got a Thermalright Ultra 120 sat in a box of bits that I'd like to use, but I'm struggling to get hold of the adaptor kit (True Bolt through kit), which apprently works on the AM4 socket too - I've tried amazon, ebay, google, etc - the only place I found it was some random dutch site that was going to charge 25 euros for the kit and then another 15 euros for shipping! Seeing as something like the Hyper 212 EVO is under £30 new, that seems a little bit of a waste of money!

So, does anyone know where I can get hold of the True bolt through kit? Or am i just going to have to cut my losses and buy a whole new cooler?!

    Cheers!

Re: Thermalright Ultra 120 on AM4 - True Bolt Through Kit

Hi, I got mine from Germany(Berlin), on ebay for £16.49 + £3.30 shipping, in September 2019. It took rahter a long time to arrive, but it is the real deal. But it is not a PC shop, but I think they just had one lying around.
You can also, email ThermalRight, which will cost you around 15 euros, shipped, BUT untracked. After I replied that I am willing to pay a little more for tracking, I got no answer back from them.
I will have a look at mine, cos I think you only need the top bracket to use with the am4 mobo`s back plate. If that is the case, I think you can buy a top bracket for AM4 for different cooler and in theory it should work.

I`ve got some pictures but I don`t know how to add them to my post, without upload them on hosting site.

    Edit: Got the pics.

    many thanks @stawte,

I emailed Thermalright a while back, and submitted a tech request on their German website, but never got a response! If you could take a look and let me know if I can get away with just the "top bracket", that would be great... I might even be able to make one myself if I can find accurate drawings - bit more risky though!

Re: Thermalright Ultra 120 on AM4 - True Bolt Through Kit

Ok, I will have a look tomorrow. I need to take it off and measure it. Here`s a link from germany where youcan buy it now tho.https://www.pc-cooling.de/luftkuehlu...lt-through-kit

What I meant by using top bracket, was to use a similar type bracket AM4 (one that goes over the middle of the cooler) from a different type cooler. You might need to use a washer or longer screws, but I did something similar before, on different platforms and got away with it.

Hey, thanks. Yeah it will be a real hassle, but if you really need to know something specific, I will take it off. In the mean time, here`s a diagram of the measurements (I did measure mine, at the back of the mobo), maybe it can help you.
