    Recommend me a Printer?

    Hey people,
I am currently doing my dissertation and so need a decent printer to print the damn thing out! Please can you recommend me one?

    Requirements:

    • A4
    • Under £50
    • Colour or Mono

I have no ideas about printers so thanks for anyone who views and espicially those who post a reply

    Cheers,
    Leon

    Edit: I like this one

Oops forgot to specify - either will be fine, i.e. wouldn't mind a laser printer or a colour deskjet/inkjet/bubble jet etc.

    Thanks

I would go for Canon - recent printers seem fine, and I have one that's still working after about eight years.

Go with Canon. DO NOT go with Epson on cheaper printers.

What is the cheapest they did a mono laser for? If you could get one for around £50 would pay for itself in saved ink quiet quickly.

If your doing lots and lots of text printing (which for a disseration I can imagine you are) then a Laser would be more economical in the long run.

ML-1510/1520 is only £49.99 at staples or pcworld

You'll probably only do the one dissertation after which colour is nice to have for photos, maps etc I've had no problems with Printrite inks in canon printers and at less than £2 a go it's not something to worry about.

the cheap canons actually dont work out much cheaper than other cheap ones using original carts so be aware. No generic canon ink carts i have used are as nice and seeing as it for your dissertation you want to use nice non smudge ones.

My wife is doing her MA dissertation at the moment, you wouldnt believe how much she prints. I do have a cheap laser, its great. For photo printing I purchased a dedicated printer, saves a lot of hassle and cost. You could allways get a colour printer later.
