Question A64 > FX Mod to Unlock Multiplier

Is there a mod out there yet to unlock an A64 CPU's mutliplier so I don't have to contemplate the wallet busting FX55.......

The FX is fully unlocked but all others are unlocked down from default multi but locked up.
You can get 12x multi & down without an FX & unless you are going for high multi/low HTT for a cool/quiet system I can't see why you would need anymore?
I run mine with 10x multis even though I have higher available.

A decent NForce4 board will run at HTTs of 300MHz or more, so the multiplier isn't usually a limiting factor in your overclock.

It all depends on what you use your computer for. If you are like most people you don't even use one tenth of the power of your CPU. For these people overclocking is pointless. But some of us actually use our computer's power. For us there is never enough performance.

It takes all kinds, doesn't it?

Sounds like something else was holding you back. Memory and BIOS settings have to be good for high HTT speeds. Most NF4 boards are better though with the right memory.

Ive always tried clocking on the K8T800 chipset and found it was nearly impossible. Get past about 210 or 215HTT and itll lock up every time. (No AGP / PCI Lock on the chipset).

Unfortunatly I no longer see the point in replacing my mobo for a new one, since the S754 A64 platform is prettymuch dead now, so if I was intent on persue-ing overclocking, I would have to upgrade everything. Think Ill stick with what I got, at least for a little while LOL.

(Shame its not possible to unlock A64s, Id love to know what my chip was capable of).
