    MSI 651 MEGA PC Overclocking

    Hi,

I've built my brother one of these SFF PCs...

Everything is working ok, but due to a tight budget I had to scrimp on the CPU a little... picked up a cheap P4-M 1.8GHz off eBay as I knew they can overclock nicely....

The only problem is that the MSI board (MS-6070) doesn't allow multiplier changing via the BIOS and it also doesn't (not suprisingly, being a desktop board) support SpeedStep.

My problem is that the multi is locked to 12x and the FSB is locked at either 100 or 133.

This means I'm only getting 1.6GHz from a CPU I know COULD to 2GHz+

Anyone know any ways around this?

To pre-empt: CPUMSR doesn't work for changing the multi

    Stu

I think the MEGA system can overclock via mobo jumpers but it's an even worse overclocker than shuttles IMO They're just not designed as top-end systems.

Its pretty much what I thought...

Similar with my iDeq too I guess.

Looks like I may have a P4-M 1.8GHz up for sale as well as a XP-M Barton 2500+

    iDEQs are pretty nifty clockers!

The 210P I built for someone ran all day long looping 3D Mark at 225*9 for 2GHz

My mums 210V overclocksto 180MHz nicelytoo
