Which laptop?

So our old household Dell laptop is on the fritz. It's quite old now but we would like another laptop for portability.

Needs:

Good bright screen (at least FullHD and pref not TN Panel)
Overall fast for tasks
OS on an SSD (extra storage a bonus but not required)
Webcam (for working from home meeting right now)
A dedicated GPU. For light gaming etc. Such as 1060 or more.
At least 8GB ram

Budget - £500-£600

I don't mind refurbished.

Can I get something that should do all this or do I want too much for the money? I've been out of the mobile market for a long time so having a look now with the CPU varieties etc is a minefield!

It is going to be hard to get a GTX1060 in a laptop for £500 to £600. I saw a deal around Black Friday for £600,but you will need to be patient and it will be most likely be a refurb IMHO.

A few there. GTX1660>GTX1060>GTX1650>GTX1050TI. There are 3 grades of laptop - A,B and C.

Other alternatives might be to look on Ebay - Argos,and laptopshop sell refurbs and ex-demo laptops on there too. Currys also have their refurbs and ex-demo laptops on there.

Mate has an earlier version of the latter laptop - its actually not too bad,but the GPU is about GTX1050 level IIRC.

The GTX1650 will be between a GTX1050TI and a GTX1060 IIRC.

Different generations. The RX560X is around GTX1050 level.

So I got the laptop above. Really happy with it. Bought 8gb ram stick crucial on amazon warehouse for £21. Works great so have 16GB now. Overkill? Prob

I haven't played any games yet but everything else is good. It also has an RGB keyboard and 144hz screen

I have a member of staff looking around about 4 hours a day since the lockdown started. Our refurb channels are scraping the bottom the pile. CEX is too much of a mixed bag for us. Perfectly fine for those buying retail I guess.

I found some good deals from Lenovo - check the retail channel. They are not business laptops OTH.
