desktop and mac peripheral interchangability
Hey, so in the current WFH climate I am trying to streamline my desk a bit. I currently work on a mac during the day but use my desktop in the evening. Has anyone got any experiences of a keyboard/mouse that switches between the two nicely? Ideally I would jsut have a usb-c monitor and use it as a hub, but sadly it's not!
Re: desktop and mac peripheral interchangability
When you say switches do you mean that has something along the lines of a KVM or do you just want to be able to plug and play as and when you need them?
If it's the latter then you should have no issue with most (If not all) USB keyboard and mice as all that I have used have worked perfectly on a Mac :)
Re: desktop and mac peripheral interchangability
TechMinerUK is correct. I haven't run into any Mac input device that hasn't been compatible with me. The only issue is Mac keyboards don't have the Windows button on them (Its the Command button on the Mac keyboard) but it should work no problem.
If you're looking to use the same keyboard and mouse on both devices then you should buy a USB KVM. Aten sells two port versions you can buy for pretty cheap and you press a keyboard short cut or a physical button on the KVM to switch device control.
