Question about EK-XTOP Revo Dual Water Cooling D5 Serial Pump

I was wondering if someone have experience with the EK-XTOP Revo Dual Water Cooling D5 Serial Pump top and pumps combo https://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-x...-2x-pump-black

It is not cheap and want to know opinions on it before buying. I will also need a new reservoir.

Also, will be great to know if those EKWB pumps are compatible with Aquaero 6. I know some PWM pumps are and some others not.

    Many thanks!

Wow, that's a hefty bit of kit.
What are you cooling that needs twin D5 pumps?

I cannot speak for all such kit, but D5 pumps from EK are definitely compatible with Aquaero 6 - I can put you in touch with several people happily running them in their loops, albeit single only. I presume this uses a splitter for PWM off a single CPU_Fan header...

Nothing that special to be honest, but my loop is fairly restrictive, I use a "pastel" coolant with 19/13 soft tubing and my current 2x D5 pumps are molex only (Vario models with a speed selector at the back):

EK Supremacy EVO for the 9900X
Alphacool blocks for the 2x 2080 Ti
    2x 360 rads (thick ones).

Knowing it is compatible with Aquaero is great, I want to take advantage of the PWM of those pumps, thanks a lot

I'm just wondering if, with a heavily restricted loop, a DDC pump would be better... Lower flow rate, but higher pressure compared to a D5.

Re: Question about EK-XTOP Revo Dual Water Cooling D5 Serial Pump

The main benefit of dual-pump setups is redundancy if one fails; performance wise it adds nothing to very little even in very restrictive loops.

If your current vario D5 are still in good order (assuming they're not tied up in other systems) I wouldn't bother with changing the pumps, once you find the right balance between noise and performance you'll end up locking the speeds anyway.
