If you placed your temperature sensor probe well, it will be more accurate than the Asus Prob. Onboard sensors are usually a bit far away from away the CPU.
The aerogate should give a higher temperature than the Asus Prob. For CPU you should only trust the highest value given (even if it may not be correct).
What is the proper way to place the sensor probe, i have a P4 Socket 478 CPU.... Asus probe is giving me the higher temp. at least 10C higher than the aerogate....
You can put it between your CPU and your CPU Heatsink, if you have thermal conductive grease pasted between the CPU and the heatsink. If not then you can place it anywhere as close to the cpu as possible is fine (but not directly on the CPU, the lower part of a center fin of a CPU heatsink should be close enough.)
You can "trust" the Asus probe since higher temperature gives you a early warning.
Or your aerogate's probe could have been badly calibrated (which is unlikely the case)
DO NOT put it in between the cpu core and heatsink! Very bad thing to do!
If you have thermal conductive material that should be fine, but if you don't have any of those, don't put it there (as I said in the previous post)Quote:
