    mobo advice needed!

So I was thinking, I could get a AGP/PCIe combo I found one but cant find any reviews and was wondering how they managed to get a AGP port?

Any ideas? Would this be a good buy and would the agp be as fast as a standard agp mobo?

Since the board is using Nforce chipset, the AGP slot will be running at PCI mode, which is about the speed of AGP 0.5x. If you have any Gigabit network, IDE/SATA card or sound card running under the PCI bus, the speed could go down to may be AGP 0.3x. The 3D performance will be pretty much capped. If you use a cheap card it will work without much performance penalty, but if u stick a 6800 ultra into the slot I think it will give you half the performance or less.

Now I have read a review of one of these but can't remember where

Personally I would just do it in one go to make the transition...

I read a review that also said poor performcance for one of these type of boards. It's more of a good innovation that anything really powerful.

If thats a 754 mobp than i would buy it anyday as it has PCI-E, and y would u need agp+pci-e. U either want pci-e or AGP. AGP = nforce 3, Pci-e = nforce 4 aka biostar or the new msi. But i am waiting for nforce 4 ultra to debut on 754.

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...138-248&depa=1

    $87.00

my mobo works fine, but I have a ATI 550 pro tuner card that cost me $100 It wont work with my mobo so I'm selling this MSI neo 2 plat for some thing different... I just figured if I could get Nforce 4 it would be worth it...

0.5× as in relative to 8×. Man, that's slow.

The AGP slot on that is connected to the PCI bus. It will drastically slow down any modern AGP card.

I thought the PCI buss was faster on PCIe/nforce 4 mobos?

Yes PCIe is faster, but PCIe is different from PCI
AGP cards work with PCI bus using a modified PCI slot, but AGP cards will not work with PCIe.

nforce 4 only support PCI32/33Mhz so the maximum bandwidth will be 133MB/s
    AGP1x is 266MB/s, 4x is 1066MB/s.

PCIe 1x is 250MB/s full duplex, PCIe 16x is 4000MB/s full duplex.
