Any word from Gigabyte on a BIOS update for that board to support the new CPU's when they come out? Give you a bit more of an upgrade path down the road...

I would second all of that. I would have just about anything other than Vengeance, and the memory controller on the 3400G isn't as strong as the non APU chips with an official 2933MHz max performance.

None that I could find, and I was just looking. I ordered one of these boards for myself this morning, but frankly at the current £99 if I ever get a newer APU I will buy a new board for it.

    This RAM:
    https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k8g32c16u4r

If you want it in black it costs £10 extra:
    https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k8g32c16u4bl

    This is the SSD:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-SN550-...mputers&sr=1-4

The Samsung 970 EVO 500gb is another £10 more and is quicker, but TBH,you could get spend £102 and get the 1TB SN550:
    https://www.cclonline.com/product/30...Drive/SSD1124/

Comes with a 5 year warranty which is UK based AFAIK.

BTW,I assume you are noy going to add a dGPU to the system??

You can probably still upgrade from Win7 to Win10 if you know how...

If you are doing a fresh install (which on a new motherboard and CPU is recommended anyway) I would start with a Windows 10 media and see if it accepts your Windows 7 key.

Even early versions of Windows 10 are out of support now, I wouldn't be putting 7 on a machine unless I had a specific need for some old hardware or software.
