    Dead mobo on Sn41g2v2

Hi all, this is my first posting - so be gentle!

Could you help me with a couple of points?

I bought an SN41g2v2 just under a year ago from GEMMA and the mobo is dead. GEMMA are less than helpfull as a company and so I've not returned the thing to them yet, but I may do so....

    The questions are -

What is the warranty offered by Shuttle - 12 months?

Would I be able to take the bits from my V2 (HDD and RAM) and put them in a V3
    (from Microdirect)?

If the ICE cooling is so noisy why don't more people just cool the CPU directly with a fan like that Zelman VGA cooler - is it the lack of space?

Looking to put in a sapphire fanless graphic card (RADEON™ 9600 XT ULTIMATE Edition) - any thoughts or cooling issues - not an avid gamer?

    Cheers in advance! Neil

Yes but it is via the supplier and Shuttle direct will not help you . Your stuck with Gemma in this case.

Yes but things like RAM etc. may not be the fastest that the V3 can support or run in dual channel (depends what DIMMS you have).

Replaceing the fan in the ICE can improve the noise level and cooling dramaticly as can the simple grill cutting mods. As for more tradtional CPU coolers, I have had 10+ Shuttles and never had the need to go down that route but many others have. I find tweaking the ICE and it's fan is far easier and gives good results.

Good card if your not a big gamer. You may want to look at the ICE fan and maybe a grill mod to keep the internal temps down and flush out the heat but I don't see any major problems with it.
