    DVD playback jerky.

    Hi, have a fast computer with PowerDVD Version 6 De-lux. During playback about every 2-3 mins the films jerk and continue ok.This happens in both my Toshiba Dvd Rom and Pioneer 109. Picture only,sound unaffected.All firmwares are updated.Any ideas lads.Cheers.

    What else you got running on your computer either in the background or the system tray. Also what is your system spec?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Would suggest perhaps checking Power DVD config.

    What happens if you play it in WMP?

    Also what IDE drivers are you running? Try the standard microsoft IDE drivers

    Try turning off hardware decoding just to see if it's related to that.

    Fixed!...turned out it was the Macaffe AntiVirus which was causing the problem.Turned it off and playback seems ok,turned it back on and jerky again.
    Thanks to Kez for hitting the nail on the head...and I did get rather close to giving it a kick....Cheers lads.

    I cant stand McCafee or Norton for their disruptive CPU hogs and memory footprints... I'm sticking to my Nod32 (http://www.eset.com)... it's cheaper and, IMO, much better
