Hi folks,
As per my other thread, I’m building a Ryzen 3 based system. I’m looking for recommendations for an AIO cooler. It’ll be going in a Phanteks Evo case, so plenty of space.
What does the panel recommend?
TIA

Erm, is this the Ryzen 3 system that ended up with a 5800X ?
If that's the case, then at 65W it won't take much to cool. I hammer the heck out of my 3700X which is the same TDP and am on a cheap Arctic Cooler Esports air cooler, not even the duo version. Under load the fan speed goes up slightly, the cpu seems to boost nicely.
So cooling should be easy, are you after low noise, low temps or what?

I thought that the 5800x is a 105w TDP? my understanding is the improved core design and more aggressive tuning allow for higher turbo clocks, improving performance but push power consumption higher.
yes you can use a smaller cooler but the turbo will cap sooner, at least that's my understanding on ryzen3

5800x then if not going AIO for AM4 my go-to of choice is the noctua NH-U14s because it offers dual 140mm fans (on 120mm mounts) and sits entirely clear of the RAM and GPU so you can change stuff without any cooler clash issues. Working well on my 3900x provided you choose your fans carefully. Get the noctua kit with twin fans as they don't ship the 1500rpm versions other than in the kit (and you want those for max performance) otherwise the retail standalones are limited to 1200rpm and not nearly as powerful.

I got a Noctua D15s for my 5600x and it runs beautiful OC at 63 degrees after hours of gaming.
I picked up it up at amazon, the noctua store do "refurbs" which from what I can tell are basically brand new and come packaged like new with the 6 year guarantee! Ships directly from head office and took just under a week I think

An AIO could prove reliable in terms of acoustics but you've obviously got to have the case compatibility in mind. If I'm correct, you meant the Phantex Evolv? - buckets of room.
Personally, I use a dual 140MM AIO (Corsair H115i PRO with Asetek pump) and my R7 3800x doesn't peak over 55c and it's basically inaudible.
Any Asetek/CoolIT based AIO will prove reliable for many years to come I would suggest.

Personally I would go with a nzxt kraken. I think they look the best and they also have good performance
the EK-AIO is supposed to be good from the reviews I've seen https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-aio-240-d-rgb

If you're looking for an rgb aio then EK-AIO, Alphacool eisbaer aurora and nzxt kraken are the top aios to go for. If you're looking for something easy to install then the Fractal Design Celsius+ S36 (or S28) Prisma is a good option. For non RGB, Arctic liquid Freezer II is the go to.
If you are planning to go for a 5800x, may need a beefy cooler. I am running Dark Rock Pro 4 and it gets quite toasty (Goes up to 85-90C during benchmark, 75C during gaming). Tried all method; Remount, repaste, optimum air flow etc... Ended up manually adjusting the vcore and tdc, running at 4.6ghz @1.25v. From my understanding this is very common with the 5800x running higher temp than its counterpart due to cores crammed to a single ccx. Just be aware, would recommend the arctic 240/280mm AIO or either the DRP4/Noctua NH-D15.
I'm having the same debate with myself. 5800X - Galahad 240 or Strix LC240.. white for aesthetics. Not sure which to go for however
