Hi All,
I have checked with the powers that be that this is OK to post.
In our little town in Kent we have a number of kids who are unable to access online learning, as they do not have access to a laptop, and are trying to do their work on a mobile phone. The Govt. has so far given a total of two laptops to the high school and none for the primary.
We have had 10 laptops donated by locals to our nascent laptop library and would like to ask you good folk if you can help.
The following is the text from our local Head.
"After yesterday it became obvious that the need for access to schooling via the internet was a big issue for a lot of children in the town and beyond. So many people were generous enough to dig out old laptops and offer them to help that we felt that there was scope for a scheme to match those laptops with children who need them so High Weald Academy (via the Head Mistress) Cranbrook Primary (via Redacted)
We put our heads together and came up with the idea of Cranbrook Laptop Library.
We have the support of the manager of High Weald Schools IT department who will check them out and restore them to factory settings.
What we need now is lovely kind people who will donate their old and unused laptops so we can get going with the scheme.
Please feel free to message any of us and we'll arrange collection or delivery.
And thank you all in advance for your support."
If any of you have any old machines that could be salvageable, or have any further queries, please DM me. Obvs battery isn't important, but running would be good.
Thanks for reading.
