    Question Buying new DVD Writer - advise please

    Cheap DVD writer for about....£30?

    Any recommendations?

    Well, for that money, it would definately have to be the NEC 3520 16x Dual Layer. Check it out.

    You might not find one for £30 but I have got them for £35 before on offer and its a great writer

    yup i have the 3500 supports just about all the things u need and is one of the fastest and best quality writers around and the 3520 improves on it in a few ways , for an extra fiver you can buy about the best dvd drive out for general purpose use

    optorize from ebuyer is very good its retial and you get one of teh best value value drives u can buy. Check it out on ebuyer.

    who makes the drive ? i would only go with the nec ic u check out the forums on www.cdrinfo.com u can download official an non offical firmwares to help speed up burning and improve quality and compatability

    they also help with speeding up the ripping of your personal dvds for backing up purposes

    for the sake of a few pounds u have a good brand with excellent firmware support and alot of info and advice readily available for it
