    Digital Recording PC

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but this seemed ok.

Im building a new PC for digital recording purposes.

A friend and my guitar teacher helped me choose the parts for the PC, i was just wondering what you guys think, and if it would be ok.

    Here are my product lists.

I hope you guys know that you have to click that button to enlarge the image. Lol.

I want to spend as little as possible really.

    Thankyou

Unless there is going to be absolutely *NO* microphone recording, you may want to think about silencing / soundproofing the PC.

    Wrong forum .
if you are getting in overclocking motherboard, there's no point in getting standard ram. Asus of probably better known for their stability. Perhaps look at the buying guide at Sharkey extreme.

I don't know what your keyboard looks like, but if you look at adverts and search eBay with the radius search, you might find a chunky lovely 88 key Panasonic keyboard which is like 10 years old for around 100 pounds, a bit of a secret of mine, which has a MIDI output. then save 50 or 70 for some faders and sliders to go on the top.

    939 is essential.

I have recently placed my computer in a padded flight case with a cushion at the front and it provides excellent soundproofing, so I would highly recommend finding an old cupboard and gluing loads of old mattress filling in the inside. something was the right dimensions will be worth it if there is only a small ventilation crack going along one side. Mind you, the lower the PC is to begin with anyway the better.

Check out some more buyers' guides, the soundcard seems all right user interface is quite nice to have a good one on the soundcard.
giving your options at that price, I would say it's somewhere between a very good and good, an excellent setup might have less of a gaming motherboard, a better keyboard from some budget shopping, perhaps a larger monitor, perhaps, also on a budget, the minimum the amount of fans, E. G. 2 for the whole PC of great quality , wireless keyboard and mouse is nice, obviously decenr budget amps +spkrs i.e 150-200 worth gdluck!

The Emu is a good card, well worth the money. Just be certain there's enough ins & outs for your needs or it'll be upgrade time again sooner than you think

Depends greatly what you want it for but I would still recommend the mAudio Delta cards - by the looks of it you want MIDI so I'd say take a look at the Delta66.

Also possibly a set of preamps or a 4 bus mixer, no soundcard has particulally good managability of mic level input.

    I went fro the M-Audio Delta 2496.

It made be abit dated, but ive heard good reviews and picked it up for a reasonable price.
