New Laptop

My flatmate is looking at getting a new laptop and since i have no experiance buying them (nor does he) i thought i would ask on here

I think his budget is around £500 and basicly would like the best for that but thats just a guidline.

Any suggestions?

What does he need the machine for, Leon?

Off the top of my head, if what he wants it for is email, web access and general office-y type stuff, then a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo L7300 might do?

oh yes that would of helped It is just generaly going to be for office stuff and internet / e-mail.

Maybe the odd game but noting brand new.

What people think of that laptop? Seems good for the price and the only thing i can really see that could do with being upgraded in the RAM to 512.

Fujitsu-Siemens are a good bet, as are the new Dell Inspiron 1000s (though they are a touch more expensive).

Ebuyer had a decent spec on their weekly deals this week, deleted the email though

I like to ebay it when it comes to laptops, since a good rated seller is a safe bet and the previous owner would have worked through any issues before hand. Anything annoying and obviously faulty would have been taken care of, or mentioned.

I don't recommend eBay if you are inexperienced though, it is dangerous
