    OCUK and Amtrak

Ordered some bits from OCUK yesterday morning (about 7:30AM) with amtrak next day costing £9.75

Well next day? That would be today and theres no parcel, i know Amtrak recieved the parcel yesterday so it should have been here today.

What do i do? Phone up and say i want it delivered tomorrow for no extra cost?

It would be completely down to the delivery service, contact Amtrak about it. But on the otherhand, my parcel didn't arrive the other day so i contacted OcUK because they know the exact person to get hold of to find out about it. They're going to get back to me

I looked up the location of the depot and its not actually in chelmsford, its 25 miles from where i live so i'm not going there.

Phoned them up to be told that i wont get a refund and they cant deliver today so i have to wait until tuesday!!

Just emailed OCUK telling them about the problem and asking what they were going to do about it, am expecting a full refund or at the very least a paprtial refund

OCUK will just say.... "unless you paid for a saturday delivery, i'm afraid we cannot refund you"

    AmTrak only delivery Mon-Fri 9-5

When did u order the stuff ?

i've recently found out from OCUK that Royal Mail are faster than any courier service :|

this is a big problem, Amtrack is not a real company in that it is a franchise.

small local companies pay to use the name and central services of "amtrack" but normally they are "joe blogs delivery" with amtrack painted on the vans.

For me in Bath Amtrack are a disgrace, a real poor service, and about 15miles away from me (I know as I've been there to pick things up many times) yet just down the road in Bristol Amtrack is excellent (because its a different company)

OCuk have a cheap deal with amtrack and I've bitche big time to OCuk about failed next day delivery, but they just palm it off onto amtrack (which it is amtracks fault) but at the end of the day your paying OCuk for next day delivery - not amtack so OCuk should take responsablity, but of course they don't.

Best way - if you have a poor amtrack in your area don't use OCuk, its one of the reasons I've stopped using them.

    Vote with your feet.

Yea, i get what you're saying ikonia

I ordered thursday morning. The reason they gave for failed delivery was that the normal guy wasnt going the round yesterday so it was someone else who probably didn't know where i lived.

Having spoken to the guy who delivers here he now know where my house is and i told him to leave it at a neighbours because nobody will be here on tuesday.

Anyway, i'm 99% sure i'll have it next tuesday.

Just hope that my lovely case isn't damaged, its a silverstone TJ-04 and i've seen 1 or 2 reviews with ones that got damaged in delivery and mine will have been out on delivery twice now :S

this is a famous excuse from amtrack " we couldn't find the house "

again its simpley because this is a proxy name for small time "man with a van" local services.

You gave OcUK your money, it's up to them to sort it out. If they say "contact Amtrak about it" tell them where to stick it.

I think amtrack tend to mess up alot - I waited 2 days for a parcel, well three really, the first was the original date of delivery - said they delivered but no one was in, and left a note (no sign of a note). So i asked for re-delivery, same again, left a note, no sign of a note. Then finally the next time they said they would re-deliver, parcel finally turned up!

If you ordered it for next day, and it didnt come next day, you are entitled for a full refund of the cost of postage surely, i don't know who to chase though?!

However if you did order friday, for saturday delivery, it is quite likely that Amtrak will charge extra for saturday delivery, isn't there an option for saturday delivery?
