    Welcome to Hexus.

Some idea of budget, expected usage (what sort of games with what resolution monitor if you game) and whether you want to buy something or get a machine pre-built would be a helpful.

    Thanks

Around £1800 or so, I have 240 refresh rate monitor with 1920x1080

I am looking for a cheaper way of doing it so pre built or buy separate

For that price and right now, probably pre built would be best. AWD it have some decently priced pre builts, my friend got a 5600x cpu and 3060ti for about £900 and he's happy with it.

    Re: Amd

You might be best picking up a good deal on an X570 motherboard, get a good priced warehouse deal on a 3600, and keep an eye on scan FE 3080's. They seem to be coming into stock a lot more frequently now. The reason I advise on getting a ryzen 3600 is because the 5000 series are starting to drop in price, you could see the 5900X come down to around £400 mark in a few months. 3080 and 5900X should easily come within your budget if you are patient. Be worth trying to pick up RAM when you see a good deal on amazon. 16gb kits are regularly coming down to around £60-80 mark. Power supplies are now dirt cheap too, so try and keep an eye out for an 850W Corsair RM850 for around the £100 mark. Have you started a build on pcpartpicker yet?

    Re: Amd

Current 5600 prices are really good to be honest so you couldn't go wrong there. Saying this I second the above, it would be super handy to know what kind of tasks you're wanting to do. Also depending on your budget there are still very competitive Intel chips out there

I did the same thing recently. Got myself a 5900x and a Asus Hero VIII. Just be careful with the memory though.

    Re: Amd

The advice on a pre-built might not be a bad idea to be honest. Standalone GPUs are a rip-off at the moment, if you can find one at all. That or a bundle can work out considerably cheaper than getting the parts separately, because the bundles go some way towards discouraging scalpers and miners from hoovering them all up to sell on ebay. Plus, it depends on how keen you are to do the building part, but at least you shouldn't have any BIOS compatibility issues (e.g. between CPU and motherboard) when getting a bundle!

The 6600XT seems to be easy enough to get hold of though: https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer...graphics-cards It's not a fantastic price but it's tolerable given the current state of the GPU market, if that's the sort of performance you're after.

But yeah, as some others have said, budget and performance expectations would give us a better idea of what to recommend component-wise.
