    HP Microserver Gen8 – Price check

    I've retired my Gen8 Microserver and have consolidated its role to another server. It has run for almost exactly 6 years as a general server and still works great.

    It has been upgraded;
    - Xeon E3-1220 V2 (4c/4t 3.1GHz, 3rd gen Core)
    - 8GB (2* 4GB) 1600 MHz DDR3 ECC - (not specific "HP Smart Memory")
    - Optional HP TPM module installed
    - 40GB Intel 320 SATA SSD, no other drives included.

    I've seen these going for silly prices on Ebay, some >£200 which is over twice what I paid for it pre-upgrades, but there's no way I'm selling on there.

    What's a realistic price for forum classifieds or Gumtree etc?

    I sold my last one for £250 I think it was, E3-1260, 16Gb RAM and no drives, I'd say with yours and given mine was probably sold 3 years ago £200 sounds like a good starting point.

    I've sold a couple over the last 18 months, both on ebay.

    One was very similar in spec, bigger SSD but the low power E3-1220L Xeon for £275 iirc

    The other had a T series i3 and no SSD for ~£250

    Mates rates and forum buddy prices... knock off 25% maybe
