FX-55 @ 4.0GHz
|RickY| & Pedro Rocha from XS.org have broken 4GHz on an FX-55
amazing!
Imagine how quick that would be for folding
It is just simply

- Shuttle SN25P - A64 3700+ San Diego @ 2.7GHz - 1GB PQI Ultra DDR - X850XT - Asus DVD-ROM - 200GB Maxtor + 2*80GB SATAII -
It won't be faster than dual opteron 250 and not to mention run cooler. (Run 2 threads of folding)
Workstation 1: Intel i7 950 @ 3.8Ghz / X58 / 12GB DDR3-1600 / HD4870 512MB / Antec P180

HTPC: AMD Athlon X4 620 @ 2.6Ghz / 780G / 4GB DDR2-1000 / Antec Mini P180 White
Mobile Workstation: Intel C2D T8300 @ 2.4Ghz / GM965 / 3GB DDR2-667 / DELL Inspiron 1525 / 6+6+9 Cell Battery
Display (Monitor): DELL Ultrasharp 2709W + DELL Ultrasharp 2001FP
Display (Projector): Epson TW-3500 1080p
Speakers: Creative Megaworks THX550 5.1
Headphones: Etymotic hf2 / Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro
Storage: 8x2TB Hitachi @ DELL PERC 6/i RAID6 / 13TB Non-RAID Across 12 HDDs
Consoles: PS3 Slim 120GB / Xbox 360 Arcade 20GB / PS2
Its still an amazing achievement for an AMD to hit 4GHz! This would kick anything intel has to offer to the touchline!
I don't know which would be faster but for general everyday stuff the FX55 would be faster

I doubt very much that its anywhere near stable, impressive though. Its obvious that its only for the sake of breaking the record and not for use as a high performance computer - just look at the awful ram for example (tho maybe this was just needed to get it to boot).
is it only me that thinks that those numbers look photochopped?

The in-program validator works by taking a screenshot of the app and sending it to the online validator, which does the checking.
It's legit, in other words. The odd font is down to the validator. Pedro and Ricky have been overclocking for a long time, there's no reason to doubt them.
MOLLY AND POPPY!
Yeah, I'm sure this is legit.
I doubt they booted at that speed, they will have used clockgen to OC within windows. I guess they're running the RAM slow just to make damn sure that it's not a factor in limiting the OC.Originally Posted by Scarlet Infidel
