Shame you missed the RTX 3080 Founder's Edition, they were going for £649 the other dayand work well in these cases, with a bottom to top airflow setup.
Dont get the ASrock motherboard, they've had poor VRM for the 550 / 570 series, generally speaking. The Auros Pro is only £30 more, it's a much better option
https://www.cclonline.com/x570-i-aor...-amd-am4-cpus/
£50 over a £2k build is almost a rounding error :D
The NR200P does appear to be a good starting case, its a bit bigger than a lot of other ITX cases but that can be a good thing. Scan have the Nr200P Max for £330 (preorder) comes with an AiO + PSU + glass/vented side panels.
Saw it buddy. my budget won't be available until nov-dec well nov if i get the moni in dec ;) which is fine as i have a 4k 65" tv I can soldier on for a month with haha. or an AOC 1080p monitor at my desk.
I'm too tied up in car parts atm until then unfortunately. but at least I'll have a sweet car and then a naughty new rig in time for xmas hey!
What is the issue with the VRM? someone else just mentioned that? I NEED to have working WiFi/BT as I use both and not ethernet so the slower 2.5GBE isn't an issuse but the constantly faulty Auros wifi/bt from what I've read in reviews worries me immensely as I have consistently very bad luck and yours would be fine and mine wouldn't.
Haha, good isn't it :D
Yeah not a bad first choice for a virgin M-ITX guy! Yes I like the size of it to be fair!
Yeah saw that but I wouldn't touch aio/water with a barge pole mate I have horrific luck. I can bet everyone elses will be fine and mine will leak. Just can't be dealing with that. I looked at getting some very expensive AIO's and even they fail/have issues/air lock blah blah I just can't be bothered.
Right, you've twisted my arm I'll take a risk with the Auros but if that bleedin' wifi/bt cocks up like I see in the reviews from a year ago (hopefully that's been fixed with a firmware update) I'll personally be coming round to kick your d*ck in? Deal?
I'd not bother with that GPU, the extra cost that the 12Gb 3080's are over the normal 10Gb versions would be money better spent elsewhere.
5800x, do you need that much grunt, 5600x is still a good chip.
CL18 RAM, see if you can get a CL16 kit.
Other than that seems good to me.
It's so cheap though like 10GB cheap? scan has 10gb's for that or more and ocuk (for once) has the 12GB cheaper?
5800x wise I want future proofing for more multicore games in the future so I can just simply change the psu/ram/gfx card in 3-5 years once I can't squeeze 1440p with dlss and mid settings out of it in years to come. Only chose that ram as the price is decent and they are nice and low profile for the hsf? what would you recommend mate?
Thanks as usual for your input buddy!
I posted a deal for C14 3200 kits, which provide similar performance to C16 3600 kits for £40, bought twice off the seller with issue, bargain price:
£20 per stick, it's low profile and using Samsung B-die chips. It will clock higher if you wanted it too.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354029389482
nice one, and not being a dumbass but I can simply buy 2 and it'll be fine... no more 'matched pair' nonsense these days so I hear? right?
ok so after some help it looks like I'm going to try and get one of these bad boi's instead so I can get a matx psu and the original msi mortar wifi/bt mobo I wanted when I had a tower in mind. anddd I'll be able to use a dual fan Dark Rock Pro 4 like I was going to use on matx mid-tower setup and have a fair amount of room for a even bigger gpu in the future!

The FE cards are coming through a bit more often now, and a 3080FE at £679 is a steal, IMHO..
The CPU, I'm not knocking the 5800x, I have one, but they are toasty so be aware that cooling might generate more noise than you are expecting, unless you undervolt it and tweak fan profiles, the price performance isn't the best compared to the 5600x was my only real thought, there are also the 3D variants, when you come to actually buy the pricing might be more favourable.
What case is that? Also posted 50 minutes ago, how timely...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTaaU12mElM
yeah I'm gonna try undervolt it Trig.
cptwhite_uk I think I'll take a pass on that case as it can only run a single fan 154-158mm cooler and only 1 120mm above if you use a matx psu which is a shame and the bottom wont allow 2 120mm fans with the matx mobo headers. i could mount twins on the side panel blowing into the hsf but hmm i dunno. I'm gonna see what else is about. sorry to waste everyones time lol. as for the cpu's I know man I just want it to last me like 5 years and only replace the ram/psu/gfx card after 3-5 years. as after 3 years I'll be heavily relying on mid settings with dlss at 1440p i'd imagine lol.
screw it I'm gonna stick to what I wanted originally and just go mid tower meshify 2 compact mild tint window. comes with 3 fans to get me started and means I get to run the BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 that I wanted originally!
The Gigabyte and MSI mini-ITX motherboards have the socket a bit higher up so can make air cooler placement a bit more finicky. Asus and ASRock(IIRC) have the sockets more centrally located which improves compatibility.
I've decided to stick to my original plan and get a meshify 2c and matx mobo/psu etc sorry to waste your time mate.
That's fair enough, what about the rest of the spec?
The Meshify 2 Compact is an ATX sized case, I'd highly recommend getting an ATX motherboard, or a mATX case to math the mATX motherboard you're wanting.
I can highly recommend the Define Mini C Tempered Glass, solid front but it has excellent side ventilation so still have excellent airflow.
I know it is mate, as I say I'm going back to my original plan, msi mortar wifi/bt atx and rm850 atx psu. decided on a phantek g360a in the end

Phanteks Eclipse G360A Mid Tower Airflow PC case - Satin Black
£84.95
Total = £2270.89
Before buying the Phanteks, also consider the Corsair 220T, since you were looking for a compact build the 220T is a very compact ATX chassis, and comes with 3x aRGB pre-installed fans on the front for £70 on Amazon. It's got excellent airflow, and an easy access front dust filter, something I consider very important if you want to maintain the PC easily. It's only major downside is the lack of front USB-C, but the Phanteks G360A doesn't have it either....
If Front USB-C is needed, the Corsair 4000D Airflow / 4000X is the way to go. 4000D airflow needs extra fans adding, and the 2 included aren't RGB. The 4000X has 3x aRGB fans similar to the Phanteks G360A / Corsair 220T but the front is glass and while airflow is okay, it's not as good as all the other options (but fans are pre-fitted so it's a trade off)
Phanteks G360A dims = 455 x 200 x 465
Corsair 220T dims = 395 x 210 x 450
I'm assuming that's Depth x Width x Height in both instances.
sound mate it's not for me personally I think that front is ugly and lacks air flow.
I don't get the whole need for a usb c tiny plug on the power connection side? makes no sense. anything with usb c has a normal usb plug for wall chargers like my phone. makes no sense to me bar on a modern laptop to make the form factor smaller? so I couldn't care less haha!
I was gonna get an antec nx700 as has 2 hench 185mm front fans and a 120mm rear all rgb, but it as with the meshify looks very plasticy and cheap... im very picky espesh with modern hardware... having had multiple macs made of laser cut milled out ally i see no excuse in this day and age for plastic rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe lappies and pcs... i mean my first mbp was 2008 and an ally unibody with a glass massive buttonless multi touch and pressable trackpad and glass led backlit screen and the g5 pro and mac pro came out in the 2000s and imho the g5 then mac pro are the best looking cases ever made... was gonna convert one to atx/matx with a kit (yep it's a thing) but cba now as they're all battered and overpriced and been kicked around studios by drugie recording artists i guess LOL.
I mean tell me this fully beautiful yet fully functional/airflow fest/every inch optimised/stealthed drivebays and cabling etc etc isn't fecking stunning
https://www.owcdigital.com/assets/pr...c_pro_open.png
I've done a build in the 4000D before, the fans that come with it were also black, which in a white case is an oversight on their part, as the build I did came with extra ordered RGB fans I had to alternate them so the fans went black white black white just so it didn't look wrong.
Taste is subjective on the 220T, but you're wrong on the airflow, it's like a wind tunnel.
Bar the things I mentioned earlier,
CL of the RAM, I ended up with 3600Mhz CL16 for my rig.
3080 12Gb, do you need the small difference in the core count for the 12Gb variant and the extra 2Gb of RAM vs the price/performance of a normal 3080 10Gb?
And ditch the RGB, its distracting when you are playing games and nobody needs it, its not like it makes the PC faster ;)

any love for the case I'm collecting tomorrow? was my dream computer back in the day from looks/design/function/power the lot. I think it's timeless and a true airflow monster. I also despite having multiple macs love the blasphemy side of what I'm doing with it haha!
Never worked in it so I'm not in a position to comment, given it's age though I'm assuming it won't have dust filtration at the front, or be easy to access if it does. I can appreciate the clean aesthetic but it's not for me, I bet it weighs a fair bit.
I know what you mean about them seeming to get bashed about, I wonder if they are just more delicate than they look as I always seemed to see them scratched and dented.
I shall be watching with interest. Is there a lot of metalwork in converting one of those?
