Hsf?
Iam looking for a good fan for my cpu... noise really isnt a issuse since my house is generaly pretty loud any way (tv's, wife on the phone and so on  ). i need a fan that provides good cooling for a P4 2.6C not overclocked now but i plan on it... Thanks in advance...

Do you need a new heatsink as well ? in which case, how much have you got to spend ?
or just the fan ? in which case, how big a fan do you need ?
-
Lian-li pc60 the case and i need a HeatSink and a Fan.. money not to much of a issue, dont have the money to go to watercooling yet ( dont think iam brave enough either ).. but i think a a Good 60mm fan would work or a 80 doesnt matter to me...
-
well, pretty much the best air cooling you could buy with noise not an issue would be a Thermalright SP-94 Heatsink (~£55) and a 92mm Vantec Tornado Fan (~£14), so expensive and noisy, but top cooling!
a Zalman CNPS-7000-Cu is a great cooler, even if noise isn't too much of an issue, it's available for less than £40 and the fan comes with it :)

just wondering but i have seen a couple ducting mods for the cpu but iam kinda confused.. if you hook up a duck to the case fan in front of the cpu ( which is sucking air in the case) and hooked it up to the cpu fan be blowing air or sucking air? did that make sense?
-
i don't what the standard is to do when doing a ducting mod, but the most effective should be to have the fan on the heatsink blowing air towards the cpu (which you should do anyway), then just ducting this fan to outside the case, so that it is getting a fresh supply of air, rather than pre-heated air from within the case.
if that makes sense :)

that makes more sense then the non sense i was talking =) thanks

Cant go wrong with an Alpha PAL8942 T (£36), i personally havent used anything better. Then sellect a fan depending on your needs i got a YSTech 80mm (£4.5) good comprimes on noise.

I got me a Coolermaster Aero 7 Lite (AMD I know but they do P4 versions). It's the pups plums! Speed Variable fan (quiet on all but the highest speed) and very cool. It cools my XP1700+ (1.47Ghz) @ 2.25Ghz (XP2600+ speeds)! And that is with the fan on quiet.
Highly recommended. Obviously ain't tried the P4 version but I'm sure it will be the same. Oh and did I mention it costs less than £20 and looks really cool too (blower fan rather than traditional fan)
madmaca.

have you checked out the aero7?
