Widescreen resolution switching - possible on ati?

Ive got a dell 2405 - and its amazing, but when i play a game that dosent have widescreen, its stretched. Is there a set of drivers that auto switch at all, on my sony laptop, it would run with bars at the side rather than stretch if it wasnt widescreen.

Any ideas?

yep, you can tell the monitor not to stretch to fit... I have the option in my ati control panel under the 'displays' tab.
Under properties and panel attributes it says : Scale image to panel size, I just un-tick that box
