Antec P180...... However you won't keep out all dust from any case.
I take all my CPUs out to my workshop once or twice a year and blow them out with a compressor air line - a vacuum cleaner is next to useless for this - you will be amazed what comes out of the nooks and crannies of what appears to be a reasonably clean inside - especially the PSU!
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
want a case with easy access filter, and no other entry points. Only problem is that typically air in << air out when a filter is used, which isn't ideal - really you'll want air in ~ air out.
On my case I get a lot of dust on the side vent as it has a fine mesh - it's the gigabyte aurora - and this stops a lot of dust and cat hair, and it's very easy to clean, I just do it when I vacuum every week (or month, as the case may be )
good advice, thanks, had a look at the Antec and Aurora both good but not my ideal, seems amazing that something everybody would benefit from is not out there, maybe a dust filter is not technical enough!!!!!!!!!!!
i got cheap mesh filter from ebuyer and it seems to stop rather alot of dust but needs cleaned every 2 or 3 days (cant find link for them anywhere tbh)
it is impossible imo. My silverstone tj06 has a good dust filter at the front but the inside after a year is still dusty - too lazy to clean it properly.
Oddly, the Coolermaster Centurion 5 may fit the bill.
The entire front is a mesh for airflow reasons and I thought my comp would get really dusty as a result.. but it hasn't - it all collects on the foam filters which you can take out and clean or wash. And because the whole front is mesh, it collects quite slowly over the whole thing, instead of clogging up a specific intake after a few days.
getting the machine away from the floor made a big differnce to my system,
Re kalneil: i had one of those centurions 531/0 iirc and your right nor much if any dust ever got in there. its a mid budget case none the less, but is still very good for the cash
Thanks again, looking at each case the makers talk more about l.e.d's than air filters,
no filter or a blocked filter could fry up the expensive bits, time they sorted out what is important, that would be me spending extra money,
dust in my wallet i can live with
tbh, dust has no eefect on pc components, its one of those things that areimpossible almost to stop, and the more filters you have the less direct airflow you have too.
I've also fitted cheap filters on my intake fans and they've stopped dust from coming inside my case. Before I was cleaning my PC once a week but now only once in 3 months
