Can't find any reviews out there so I think its the new stuff.
I'm still waiting for T7K250, but if this one is nice I may rather jump on this

Did you see my post?
It's samsung and a spinpoint. You can't go wrong
shame its only ATA tho! would be nice if there is also a SATA version
I've got a Maxtor 200GB SATA drive, but I wish I had a Seagate SATA - Seagate drives always seem so much quieter :\
The Spinpoints are very quiet but i didn't find it as "fast" as my WD SE. I did switch back to my WD SE and it seemed it was faster than the Samsung Spinpoint. Still a damn good drive though
WD 200G SE is already hell slow compared to other brands, if the spinpoints are even slower, what can I say hmm..

Given your United Colours of Benetton set of HDDs already, I'm sure you won't need any encouragement to add a new member to the familyOriginally Posted by arthurleung
I'll see which one will be cheaper, Samsung 250G SATA-300 or Hitachi T7K250. Space is running low hereOriginally Posted by davidstone28
IMOH Hitachi and Samsung have the same noise level and heat, but Hitachi is faster. I've never used a Samsung though.

Did i just order the wrong drive for my needs?Originally Posted by KeZZeR
I've just ordered the drive from the link above from microdirect for a standard external USB enclosure, whish supports IDE hard drives and CD drives. Will this drive not work?
There are two types of hard drive, SATA and PATA (IDE).
PATA uses seat belt connectors and SATA uses thin usb2 like connectors and wire.
If you bought an IDE PATA you will be fine.
