    Whats the total capacity of your HD's (Poll)

    As many people now have a vast media collection I was wondering how much capacity you all have on your machines.

    I have got a total of 570GB and will need to buy another HD soon.

    200GB on my main computer - 120GB HDD and an old 80GB for storage and backing stuff up.

    1840 Gb preformatted space - I have about 1600-1700 Gb once formatted

    What the hell do I need all that space for?

    MCE 2005 All hail the revolution of digital PVR and Doctor Who goodness. Thank god for BBC3 and the blessed MS TV guide so I can schedule upto 2 weeks in advance recording of all my favourite shows to watch when the rubbish like Eastenders is broadcast

    Storage split into following segments ;

    2 x 160 Gb (raid 0) - Windows + Pagefile
    2 x 160 Gb (raid 0) - Games & Games galore
    2 x 300 Gb (raid 0) - Recorded TV stuff
    2 x 300 Gb (raid 0) - Storage and filestore

    Nope... I'm using the Nvidia Raid and the Silicon Image 3114 Controllers built into the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe motherboard

    I have 2 ports free as well so I could ADD 2 more Serial ATA drives but AT the present time I have enough storage until windows Longhorn arrives with its extra bloaty bloatware professional bundled with it.

    Isn't that a bit risky to have all drives going RAID0?

    Yep it can be classed by some as a walk on the wild side, but I tend to break windows all the time anyway* testing various items out for work and installing/removing drivers all the time so its not really an issue. The most important gears all on old IDE 160 Gb drives that are in USB2 icyboxes, and then locked under the desk for safety.

    *Note - I've noticed MCE2005 is more resiliant than XP Pro with all the TV tuner and graphics card changes

    Just hecked out your motherboard, that is one sweet motherboard. Shame it doesn't have Soundstorm or Firewire 800, then it would be amazing.

    Am I right in reading it can take 10 hard drives?
