Not sure if it's the best for ~£120, you'll have to research that. My stuff is pretty good tho. Currently doing 246mhz, can't remember the timings.

It's differnt from normal crucial stuff coz it can run at higher frequencies/ lower latencies.
At £124.53 including shipping the Ballistix seems to be the cheapest very low latency ram available with the ability to get decent overclocks. I've been looking around a lot and nothing seems to be able to beat it at that price. I guess the next poster will prove me wrong.

I wont be overclocking much, so tighter timings would be good, but i would like the potential for doing so in the future.
Personally I'd go for TCCD chipped ram then, as with that board it'll work well & you can have the best of both world's. Low fsb/tight timings or high fsb/loose timings.

Alternatively go and look on a forum such as xtremesystems.org and just do a search for info regarding Ballistix & your dfi board as somebody is bound to have posted their results or asked that question.

With the DFI you have the option of upto 4.0V Vdimm iirc?
That makes BH-5 or UTT very, very usable.
Best value is probably the Winbond UTT from CPU City at £47 inc. VAT per 512Mb.
My pair (sold them to a guy using a DFI as you really need at least 3.1V Vdimm for these) was last heard of doing 267MHz @2-2-2- @3.6V.

Anandtech were reviewing the ocz vx ram on the Dfi board. The Ballistix was included in the roundup and the results for it are available here. Seemed to do very well for the price point and if I remember correctly the article said that Dfi had released a BIOS update to improve performance with it.

There is no doubt that the Athlon 64 platform can be a very good match to Crucial Ballistix. When price is considered, Ballistix is still a very attractive choice on the latest nForce4 platforms.
They seem to like it, i think thats the best to go with then.

    You're welcome

I'm heading down that route too shortly unless anything better comes along at that price point. Doubt it will though.

    Just to clarify a point:

You can get crucial memory with non-micron chips, I have some std PC3200 with Samsung chips on it.

I also have some BH-5 (TwinMOS) that loves voltage, got it at 3.1V atm at 230FSB 11-2-2-2 on my AN7 (so glad my NF7-Sv2 went bang cos this AN7 has soo much more headroom/voltages) and I am sure there is more from the ram - think the chip and board are holding me back.

I cant wait for DLF nF4 Ultra-D and a winnie for some real FSB clocks

You might want to wait for a Venice, seems like the 05xx Winnie doesn't clock very well.

Purchased the Ballistix today. I doubt there will be much to report sticking it in my xp2500+ setup at 333Mhz but i'll keep you posted on how it goes.
