Question One of the Intel or AMD Questions again....

Right im about to buy a shuttle -

Either a SP95P V2 Which is Intel Supporting DDR2 Yada Yada Yada

And ive had two of my mates come upto me saying "Buy AMD" "You'll regrett it"

So being open minded I searched for AMD Shuttles equivelent and saw that the SN25P would be the match.

I will be using my shuttle for gaming & media play.

Thing is I dont know how big DDR2 is going to be and what the upgrade possibility's will be for AMD64 939 sockets are....

Any info or help would be greatfull

OK, CPUwise AMD64 is king for gaming.
Media play shouldn't trouble either ( if you were encoding video Intel P4 probably slightly better).

The reason that AMD currently hasn't support for DDR2 is that with current hardware there is no performance advantage for an AMD system & DDR2 is dearer. If you have existing RAM that you can carry over you save even more.
Once there is an advantage to DDR2 (1000MHz+ ?) AMD will include it.

As for upgrade possibilities for 939 afaik they will be as good as for Intel's 775.
AMD is planning a 1207 pin socket for 2H of 2006 iirc.

either would be fine for a decent gaming experience, just don't go sticking the fastest processor, most powerful video card and terrabytes of HD capacity in it

common sense tells you SFF is good, but it is a compromised concept for the highest end components.
