When i do a format these days, the computer performance is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I dont quite no why or how to change this.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated

Its a classic case of getting used to your hardware I did the same got a new HD thought it was fast as owt, then after a few months it seemed to get slower. Although at one point I had issues with the drive running chronically slow. A zero fill and a install later, things were good to go again
i do understand what u mean, but i can remember the first year where everything laoded when u clicked it, with no effort. The pc rebooted in like 10 seconds. Not its running like a dog
Thats just the way it is.. only way round it is keep your machine clean & de-fragged and format often
