    "While we hesitate to recommend specific products in these articles, one drive is noticeably quieter than its competition. That’s the Seagate Barracuda."

    Not with my limited experience. I have a 7200.7 and its noticably noisier than my 2 samsungs. Also spends more time ticking around and seeking for no reason whereas the samsung only does as its told

    Barracuda's are fairly quiet (I have 4 in RAID and can't hear them unless I'm thrashing them to pieces.) However, Samsung's are quieter still.

    I liked this quote: "Let’s be honest: the only way to create a truly silent computer is to turn it off." I might create a system running off battery backed RAM drives in a TNN300 case just to prove them wrong.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    The hundreds spending on more quiet equipments can be used to buy some top-notch sound isolation earbuds. Then you can't listen a thing from your computer

    You can experience a noiseless system by using a PDA, simple If you don't mind it is slow, I can watch my anime on that
