temperature sensor tape

Ok didnt find anything related.

You know that orange tape you are not supposed to remove from the temperature sensors... well long story short I need some or something that will work as well. Any ideas?

Do you mean on sensors like this

The orange bit is a flexible pcb and you can see the traces..
If youve not broke the traces just put some insulation tape (or any non-conductive tape) over it to stop it shorting.

yea thats the stuff. So when you say "insulation tape or any non-conductive tape" would electricians tape work just as well? I tried scotch tape a while ago but that didnt work. I guess its not insulated. What tape would work best?

Whats it connected to and what result does it give?

There are two wires, going from your measuring device, to the black dot on the end of the orange stuff.
The orange stuff is just insulation - any plasticy/papery thing..

The two dark brown lines along the orange insulation are copper traces, which are exactly like normal wire.. If they break then it wont work unless you un-break them

the scotch tape as the orange tape replacement. Its connected to a front panel display. The temperature panel kept beeping until I took off the sensor with the scotch tape. The other ones that still have the orange tape didnt give an error beep but the front panel would still flash error because one was not used (and it cannot be detatched).

Anyway, Ill try using electrical tape but I am not sure if it will melt under heat or if it will conduct heat through the tape to give an accurate reading.
