£300-400? Just a wild stab in the dark.

The basic Dell recommended Dimension 8400 system costs £599.

Its FSB is 800mhz and the card is FX5200 nothing high end.

For $400-$500 here in the USA I could build a box that would smoke it brand new. £300-400 sounds high to me unless it is in as new condition, and even then it would be closer to £300 I believe.

Considering Dell outlet prices and the prices that Dell chuck 8400's out at now and then I would say just over £300 if your lucky.

Yeah, but that's assuming that people who buy computers from local papers know what they're doing. I wouldn't assume that they do personally.

Good luck, the local rag may get you a premium . Human nature being what it is somebody will see it and not bother to check anywhere 1st.

The Del PSU isnt great and the Mobo is locked down, so no overclocking.....:-(

Plus im in the middle of configing myself an Isotope System from Scan. I want to move my system onwards to a P4 Sck 775 and start using PCI Express. Best do it now rather than falling too far behind.
