Would this be money well spent?
My current setup is Motherboard MSI K7N2 Delta, CPU AMD XP 2700+, RAM 1G KINGMAX DDR500, GRAPHICS CARD 6800 GT (OC TO ULTRA SPEEDS).
I have just had my birthday and I've got 250 to spend on a upgrade, I'm going to get a AMD 64 3500 s939 and a Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939 - nForce3 mobo.Would this be money well spent?
I think so, it will become avery quick system. You looking to overclock, maybe a different board.
With a graphics card like that, there is a serious bottle nect at your processor. A 3500 would give you the power to match your graphics card. Well spent money I'd say...
get the MSI Neo2 instead
Not too bothered about overclocking, but I had considered going for a EPoX EP-9NDA3+ mobo would this be better than the Gigabyte.
Money very well spent indeed. I'd go for the ASUS A8V though. They overclock pretty well (though you said that's not a concern) and more importantly they have many features at a good price. And the best thing? They have been around for awhile so they are 100% stable and free of the quirks that still plague many S939 boards.
