just wondering how long the board is likely to last running it with the chipset fan stopped as mine seemed to have stopped working. It's only at 166FSB so maybe it will last a few weeks? changed chipset voltage to lowest (1.4v) best I can do. Might lower the FSB later if it starts locking up or acting weird.

wouldn't sugest even using it with a damaged northbridge fan, those things can get mightily hot, get a passive zalman one and whack it on right away...

At stock, with reasonable case cooling, you might be ok, but you should still repleace it as soon as possible. Turning down AGP rate and voltage can help keep it cool.
I ran mine without for a day, buy the heatsink gets really hot & I wouldn't recommend it. It's just a flat chunk of Al with no fins and just doens't work without airflow.
That the fan off the base and aim a case fan at it.
Or just buy my motherboard off me (exactly the same board) in the for sale section

just drill up an old Pentium heat sink? aluminium is easy to shape. you can never have too many spare old heat sinks.
