Which RAM?
Hi Guys,
Looking at getting some new ram for my NF2 2500+@3200+ rig.
As the board is an Asus A7n8x dlx V2.0 which RAM would give the best performance? I'm looking at either Crucial Ballistix PC3200 or Twinmos speed premium PC3500 (Winbond BH-5).
I hear the winbond chips require big VDimm to perform well, the asus board is limited to 2.8V I think so I don't think I would really get the most from it.
I also intend to upgrade to a Venice 3000+ at some point so high clocks would be advantageous. I'll probably be looking at some form of NF4 board when I finally upgrade so not too sure on what the max VDimm will be. Looks like only the DFI boards give sufficcient VDimm for the winbond stuff.
I guess what I'm saying is, what will give me the best performance for sensible VDimm and without buying an OCZ ddr booster?
Cheers
Chris

If you plan to go a64 it may be worth getting some tccd now - high clocks guarunteed!

Cheers, but from what I've read on the net it would seem the ballistix is just as good if not better, and has lower latencies when at high clocks.

i would recommend tccd' aswell. Most of the new batch reaching up 280fsb to 300 and most of the times, over that. Some can even do 350mhz.
