    Prescott = Pants?

    Spotted this on theinquirer (translated, well sort of, by babelfish):

    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...le.asp?id=1974

    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...le.asp?id=1975

    From the tests they've done it would seem that the prescott core doesn't offer much of a boost over the current P4 range.

    Of course, the tests covered aren't exactly definitive, but still..

    Well, the Japanese filter made the most sense, it's not an exact translation, but it made a hell of a lot more sense than the chinese translation..

    Isn't the rumour that it will not work with many current mobos (yes even the 865/875) and that it gives off HUGE amounts of heat ... GF-FX5800ultra anyone?

    Yea, the vregs of many current mobos dont support it cause intel couldnt make up their minds and it kicks out >100W of heat.

    Wonder if Intel is branching out into home heating systems, who needs a boiler if you have systems like this

    I think calling it pants would be wrong at this point, it does come close to the P4 3.2 in some of those tests which isnt bad. Needs some refining and should be an ok cpu.
