I see that makes perfect sense, think I might give this a board a miss in that case and pick up a DFI

I'm pretty sure scan don't have the 3700+, because searching "3700" beings up the S754 one, but not a san diego one. Chances are the DFI board will need a BIOS flash, most (all?) boards seem to...the DFI seems not to work out of the box most of the time anyway though
well ill have to get the mobo and cpur from dabs, poor scan

get the dfi nf4 ultra d and the 3700.
i got mine yesterday even with the jan bios it booted up then i just flashed it to a newer bios,no problem.
A) the shop are the ones who will lose if they recommend this procedure and it goes wrong and B) it's ridiculous to expect the staff of a shop to know every last detail of every last product that they sell.Originally Posted by ozzyo99

They do some DFI mobos, just not in AMD 939. Im sure they will stock them soon, its a great board!

Now forgive me for my mindless demonic rants, but i don't think 1,2 or 3 represent a massive amount of work for the retailer to know about, or have the resources to find out.
To many companies see that consumers have a rough deal after paying up £xxx and being left at the wayside. Not claiming this represents only Scan, in fact i can heartily recommend Overclockers UK if you want bad service but i feel that retailers should have a better grasp of after sales support, be it helping to cover return postage on such issues or to be able to accurately guide a person through the process whilst on the phone.
A lot to ask? I think not.
