Yeah the Biostar iDeq plays MP3s, CDs and DVDs from a special bios, so you don't need to boot up windows. They are for sale at www.ultim8pc.co.uk and there is a pretty good review of them at www.sfftech.com

I'm building an mITX system atm
seen a barebones mitx, needs HDD, memory and a p3 chip
would run everything you want
atm I have a p3 midi tower, under my PC
it's quiet but not silent but runs Movies and MP3's through the TV and speakers I have mounted next to it
for DIVX and AVI it's been very handy for me

I have only had it for a couple of days no problems so far.
The size is great it is almost unnoticeable in my pocket very tiny. It has a dock with line out's, ethernet, and usb 2.0. There is a java version of the music management software that is stored on the player so you can type the ip of the player into a browser to launch it.
