    need help sli rig

    hey guys...im goin to be buildin a new rig....just wanted to know ur input....should i get dual 6800gt or 6600gt....games will be playin guild wars dawn of war 40,000k hl2 doom3...also will be doin some photoshop stuff also should i get a 36raptor or just 80gb and 120gb hd?

    Get two 6800gts, two 6600gts are really pointless, as a single 6800gt is better at higher resolutions. Also, If I were you I would get a 36 (or 72 if you have the money)gb Raptor for boot etc. and then a 200gb (or as much storage as you want/need) for everything else.

    Do you really want a SLI rig? Unless you are going to go for a very very expensive CPU i can't quite see the point of it. Anyhoo, RDL is right - dual 6600GTs might only be £250 but they are still beaten by a similarly priced 6800GT. dual 6800GTs is the way to go becuase then you can overclock them to beyond ultra and then be totally and utterly CPU bound ..........or at least in the games that work with SLI :S

    which mobo do you have? next thing to consider is what cooling you want on em lol

    i might be gettin the msi neo platnum sli one...and probably a few case fans and a zalman cpu cooler

    If you were thinking of dual 6600GTs then why not just get one 6800GT?
