    RAM Me

Is this the best RAM for a DFI ultra-D?
    http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=309097&cks=SER
Its BH-5 but i must say i dont like the cheap generic look (even though its branded) Has anyone got this ram, will i be able o run two sticks in dual channel as they are not matched?

    Thanks

Apparently the 3500 stuff is very good and people are getting some good results. 255FSB 2-2-2-5 at 3.6v is achievable

The 3200 is revised CH-5 UTT, the 3500 is BH-5 UTT. Both will, on average, do 260+ 2-2-2-5-T1 with 3.6v, though the BH-5 will be abel to hit 2-2-2 with slightly lower voltage. You will ahve to actively cool them.

They will work fine in a dual channel set up. Having pre matched sticks means very, very little.

Cheap generic look? If lacking gimmiky heatspreads bothers you, feel free to spend much more for nothing.

I love a nice gimmic, they look so nice, can see me spending a couple of quid on some LOL. So the the 3200 is fake BH-5, will it take the extra volts on the DFI, I think ill get the 3500.

It's not fake BH-5 it's revised CH-5, Komplett has it misslabled. Performance is very similar to BH-5, but the CH-5 may need tRCD of 3 at the lower usable voltages, BH-5 should do trcd of 2 all the way through.

Both of them need HIGH voltage to really do their best.

The PC3500 is only 7 pounds more, they are probably worth it.

If you are going to get heat spreaders, make sure you put them on properly or they will hurt cooling, not help it. You will also need active cooling with or without heatspreaders.

nearly all ram looks the same, under the fancy packaging. all heatsinks are for, is for show, as ddr1 gets no where near hot enough, even overclocked to warrant heatsinks.

it is just for eyecandy, otherwise, bh5 would be a great investment, however remember you normally need to feed them a lot of voltage to get decent clocks out of them!
